VW Inspired Cake
This cake was a birthday girl who loves her VW, which has all these bumper stickers on it. Therefore, I decided to do a cake that incorporated her bumper stickers. Originally, the client wanted only the swing dancer picture on the cake. but the image was so difficult to extract from the picture she emailed me. I also thought that it would be cool, more special and personalized to add the other stickers and license plate.
All the images were extracted and edited in photoshop, except for the CA license plate. I just created that one.
This was a red velvet cake with cream cheese buttercream.
Baby Bag for Baby Shower
Rowena Lumbera’s co-worker was having a baby shower and wanted to have a cake that was similar to a very popular cake shop in New Jersey. Therefore, I tried to incorporate her theme into this cake (i.e. Teddy Bear theme, blue color for baby boy).
Everything was made out of fondant (teddy bear, the toiletries, diaper, baby bottle)
This was a red velvet cake with cream cheese buttercream.
This shows a close-up of the baby products (baby powder, sun block, petroleum jelly, and anti-rash ointment). The labels were printed on the edible ink printer.
USC Homecoming Cakes
These are the 2 cakes I made for the 2009 USC homecoming game vs Stanford (unfortunately they lost). I thought that I should finally make some USC cakes since I am alumni, twice! I couldnt choose btwn a jersey and a helmet, so I decided to do both. I brought these 2 cakes over to Lindsey Fong’s tailgate to share with her and her party.
USC Helmet Cake
This was probably the cake from that gave me the most problem ever since I started working on cakes. I estimated about 2 hours on decorating the cake, but it took me about 6 hours. Nothing worked my way. But anyhow, finished right in time for the game.
This was a chocolate cake with chocolate raspberry Chambord buttercream (one of my favorite flavor combination).
USC Jersey Cake #7
I also wanted to do a jersey. I wanted to make a Matt Barkley jersey since I adore him (even though he did so poorly in the game). This was a red velvet cake with cream cheese buttercream.
V Open Chest Cake with Iphone and BMW key
This cake incorporated the 3 things that Gigi’s friend love in life: Louis Vuitton, her BMW, and Iphone. Therefore, I decided to do an open chest cake which I have never done before and I wanted to change the LV cakes a bit.
This is a chocolate cake with chocolate raspberry Chambord buttercream.
Inside the chest was tissue and a BMW replica key made out of fondant. The Iphone front was printed.

Her Full Dessert Bar
Strawberry French Macaroons – apparently this was very popular and went fast.
3 types of creme brulee made from real vanilla beans (Baileys, brandy, or amaretto flavored)
Lollicakes – a variety of different flavored cake and buttercream covered in dark, white, or milk chocolate.
Butter cookies covered in milk chocolate.
Dark or white chocolate Petit fours with cake inside.
French Macaroons
Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies
Mini cupcakes (carrot, chocolate, or banana).

This was their 6 tiered wedding cake to serve 250 ppl. I wanted to do a 6 tiered cake because she is my bff and she deserves the best for the the wedding of the year!! I incorporated some French flare to this cake because she loves Paris. This cake was alternating layers of ivory and purple (purple was the theme of the wedding).
Bottom tier – 16 in vanilla cake with chocolate amaretto buttercream. The lavender circles matched the French Macaroons I made for her which is her favorite.
2nd tier – 14 in. chocolate cake with raspberry Chambord buttercream. The silver print was created from royal icing on a Fleur de Lis stencil.
3rd tier – 12 in. purple velvet cake with pink cream cheese buttercream. Her wedding gown was the influence for this tier.
4th tier – 10 in carrot cake with cream cheese buttercream
5th tier – 8 in carrot cake with cream cheese buttercream
6th tier – 6 in banana rum cake with chocolate peanut butter buttercream. The silver fondant accent was a French crown design. On top was a small bouquet of sugar Calla Lilly, which was her bouquet.

The groom’s cake was small compared to the 3 foot tall cake. At least, the groom had a cake.
Groom’s (Rick) Cake
Rick loves poker and I decided to give him some glory so I made him a 10 in poker cake. The coins are South Point Las Vegas, which was created in Photoshop. This is a banana rum cake with chocolate peanut butter buttercream, his favorite.

This shows you a little details of the middle tiers of the cake.

Black/silver Chanel Purse

This cake was made for my mother-in-law’s bday. She actually likes Louis Vuitton, but I have made that cake so many times so I decided to do a Chanel one that is similar what I did for my mom.
This is a chocolate cake with dark chocolate buttercream.
Dallas Cowboy Jersey

A birthday cake the client’s husband, who turned 43. The lettering and numbers were all hand cut with a blade (which was so tedious). The birthday greeting was created with Photoshop, which represents the stripe on the Cowboys helmets.
This is a red velvet cake with cream cheese buttercream.
Calla Lilly Fall Birthday Cake

A 75th birthday cake. She requested for a flower themed cake that was fall colored. I decided to go with calla lilies (made out of gum paste) since they are simple, yet elegant and come in a variety of colors for a 75th birthday. This cake is 2 tiered since we didn’t want it to look like a wedding cake.
Chanel Purse Cake

This cake was for my mom. This is a vanilla cake with strawberry buttercream. It measures about 4×6x5.
